Houston Airports to welcome record travelers this Thanksgiving with traffic, parking improvements
Houston Airports will welcome a record 2.2 million passengers during the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday travel period, which spans Thursday, Nov. 21 to Monday, Dec. 2.
Bush Airport is expected to serve 1.7 million passengers, while Hobby Airport anticipates 500,000 travelers. This marks a 2% increase from 2023 and a 9% increase from 2022.
More than 175,000 daily passengers are expected on 10 of the 12 travel days with the busiest days being Sunday, Dec. 1, Friday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 24. These record-breaking numbers reflect growing demand for air travel through Houston.

As of November 14, you can now fly nonstop between Houston IAH and Medellin, Colombia via United Airlines.
As of November 15, you can now fly nonstop between Houston HOU and Hartford, Connecticut via Avelo Airlines.
Beginning May 22, 2025, you can fly nonstop between Houston HOU and Gulf Shores, Alabama via Allegiant Air.
