'Inspiring a new generation of pilots' | Houston Airports to break ground on TSU Flight Academy at Ellington Airport
Houston Airports is preparing to break ground on a $5.5 million Flight Academy at Ellington Airport. The 2-acre facility will support Texas Southern University, which offers one of the best aviation programs in the United States.
TSU and Houston Airports are proactively working together to address our nation’s critical aviation needs. According to TSU, there is a need for 60,000 airline pilots by 2035. Houston Airports already supports TSU aviation students through an internship program.
Houston Airports is still waiting on the final numbers for December, but the airport system is bracing for a banner year!
The totals below include both Bush and Hobby Airport as of November 2023 and reflect the passengers, flights and hours served entertaining passengers through our immersive award-winning arts experience!

Bush Airport offers the walking food tour you didn’t know you needed. Trust us! The Infatuation- Houston hoped to tackle a list of 10 restaurants at Bush Airport in a matter of four hours. Four hours to sample everything from Tex-Mex to Southern classics and Asian favorites almost requires comfortable walking shoes and pants with a little extra room.

The Terminal D Connector Gallery – which connects Terminals C and D - features an assortment of small sculptures and 2D art.
